May 6, 2020 update

Recreation Center: Public Health Orders related to the COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of the Meridian Ranch Recreation Center, playgrounds and picnic areas. Recently, the State of Colorado slightly relaxed some of the restrictions by issuing the “Safer at Home” Public Health Order 20-28 and related guidelines. Under the “Safer at Home” phase of the pandemic emergency, some limited fitness programs with minimal participants per class/session are allowed. Watch for upcoming announcements about advanced registration for fitness and aquatic classes that may begin as soon as May 18.

Falcom Freedom Days: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the traditional public activities during the Falcon Freedom Days celebration will be cancelled. However, the District is exploring the possibility of a fireworks show that may be viewed from a distance while maintaining required social distancing. Watch for upcoming announcements about a possible fireworks show and opportunities for sponsorships.

April 29, 2020 update

Playground and Picnic areas are closed through May 27, 2020. Official Notice. Also, in compliance with PHO 20-28 the Meridian Ranch Recreation Center and the District Office will remain closed until May 27.

April 8, 2020

Meridian Service Metropolitan District is dedicated to preserving the quality of our Recreation Center, parks, trails, and open space that serve the Meridian Ranch Community. During the temporary public health closures, we are still maintaining the facilities as allowed under the applicable orders so that we can reopen and resume normal recreation and sports activities as soon as allowed. Reopening will require availability of experienced recreation and sports staff. A temporary layoff could jeopardize our ability to reopen quickly since some impacted employees may find other employment. Also, we are concerned about the financial impact on our employees and their families, many of whom are residents of Meridian Ranch. Therefore, the Board of Directors decided to continue to pay our recreation employees through May 16. At the regular May 6 Board meeting, the Board will review the status of public health orders, the prospects for the summer season, and then decide how to proceed at that time.

Several of our customers have requested a reduction or rebate of service fees to reflect the facility closures and event cancellations. It will take some time to determine the overall financial impact of the closures. At some future date, once the financial impacts are known, the Board will review the matter and consider whether to implement a fee adjustment.

March 17, 2020 Update

Message to Meridian Ranch residents about the Corona virus pandemic:

Our water is safe to drink. The Recreation Center will be closed until April 30.

The Meridian Service Metropolitan District is pursuing all necessary steps to assure the continued safe and reliable operation of public water supply and sewage systems which are necessary for public health.

The public water supply is safe to drink and will not contribute to the spread of the Corona virus. The World Health Organization has conducted scientific studies and concludes that public water systems that use chlorine and other accepted disinfection methods are sufficient to support public health. As with most public water systems, our Meridian Ranch water maintains a chlorine residual from the water treatment plant all the way to the household taps.

In compliance with the Colorado Governor’s announcement on March 16, the Meridian Ranch Recreation Center will be closed at least until April 30, 2020. During the public closure, our staff will be working on disinfection, deep cleaning and facility maintenance.

Information on the COVID 19 pandemic is available on these official websites:
